Four games take place in Betfred League One this weekend as the 2023 season continues.
10th placed London Skolars will be searching for their first victory of the campaign when they host Hunslet in the only game on Saturday.
Hunslet will provide a difficult test for the Skolars though. Alan Kilshaw’s side have won once in their opening two league games, and also produced an impressive performance during last weekend’s narrow Betfred Challenge Cup defeat at home to Keighley Cougars.
Adam Ryder scored one of the early contenders for try of the season against the Cougars, and will be searching for another score against the Skolars.
On Sunday, league leaders Dewsbury Rams will travel to Workington Town, in what is set to be a thrilling game brought to you by The Sportsman.com.
The Rams head into the game in good form after winning their last three games in all competitions, a Challenge Cup victory against fellow League One side Rochdale Hornets last weekend.
Like the Rams, Workington will be looking to immediately return to the Championship this term, but they’ll have to bounce back against Dewsbury after suffering a narrow 24-20 defeat at Doncaster in the Challenge Cup last weekend.
Elsewhere, Doncaster host North Wales Crusaders. The hosts have won their opening two fixtures, whilst the visitors are still without a win in the league this season.
North Wales winger Rob Massam can reach 200 career tries if he manages to score against the Dons on Sunday.
Midlands Hurricanes host Rochdale in the final League One fixture this weekend. Midlands produced a ruthless display on the opening day to earn a convincing win against Cornwall, and also reached the fourth round of the Challenge Cup with victory at Orrell St James last weekend.
Rochdale meanwhile, were defeated in their only league fixture so far this season and have already been knocked out of the Challenge Cup. Victory this weekend would be the perfect way for Gary Thornton’s side to kickstart their season.
